Protein Whole Grain Waffles

Karma has a passion for making over traditional comfort foods into healthier versions that are still tasty and delightful. These breakfast waffles are made from whole grain flour (we grind our own spelt berries fresh) and use only egg whites, plus non fat Greek yogurt and even a couple scoops of whey protein powder, giving the end result 20 grams of protein per square!

Ingredients
  • 8 cups Whole Grain Spelt Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Baking Powder
  • .5 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • .5 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 8 Egg Whites
  • 32 ounces Non Fat Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 cup 1% Milk
  • .25 cups Olive oil
  • .25 cups Whey Protein Powder
Instructions
  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. In your blender combine the egg white, yogurt, milk, and oil and blend well.
  3. Fold your wet mixture into your dry ingredients until just combined, do not over mix.
  4. Cook according to your waffle iron instructions, or until steam stops.
