Pickled Red Onions

Dan makes the best pickled red onions. There are a wonderful side to sandwiches, veggie links, rice bowls and more. This is the simple recipe he likes to use and that we all love.

Ingredients
  • 4 Large Red Onions (sliced) (Or enough to fill the jar you want to use.)
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 3 teaspoons Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Vinegar
Instructions
  1. Bring vinegar and water to a simmer and add salt and sugar, with a few peppercorns if desired.
  2. Slice onions uniform and thin
  3. In a heat proof jar pour the pickling liquid in to cover all of the onions. Store in fridge.
