  1. Break pasta into 1 - 2 inch pieces in a heavy pot with butter. Add rice and stir over medium heat until lightly browned.
  2. Add chopped mushrooms and four cups water stir and simmer, covered until all of the water is absorbed. Continue to add water, two cups at a time stirring occasionally until the rice is fully cooked and the mixture is creamy.
