Easy Marble Cake

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Sugar
- 0.5 cup oil
- 0.5 cup butter or plant butter
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tbsp Vanilla
- 1.5 cup Whole Milk Yogurt
- 0.66 cup Whole Milk
- 2.5 cup Cake Flour
- 1 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 0.25 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Coco Powder (unsweetened)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or two 8-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar, oil and softened butter until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs and vanilla, beating until well combined. Mix in the yogurt and milk until smooth.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated. Avoid overmixing.
6. Divide the batter evenly between two bowls. Sift the cocoa powder into one bowl and gently fold until completely incorporated. If the chocolate batter becomes too thick, add a splash of additional milk to bring it back to a similar consistency as the vanilla batter.
7. Alternate large spoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate batter in your prepared baking pan. Continue layering until all the batter is used.
8. Using a butter knife or skewer, gently swirl through the batter in a figure-eight pattern to create that lovely marble effect. Don't overdo it or you'll end up with chocolate cake instead of marble cake!
9. Bake for approximately 35–45 minutes, depending on your pan size, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
10. Allow to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve plain, dust with powdered sugar or finish with your favorite frosting. Sometimes you just can't decide between vanilla and chocolate, so why should you have to?
